While phytoestrogens have been around longer than mankind, the awareness for environmental estrogens, including phytoestrobgens, is a rather new phenomenon.

The Singapore Volunteer Corps (or Singapore Special Constabulary) was a militia unit established in 1854 as the Singapore Volunteer Rifle Corps. The Corps underwent several reorganisations and was known by various names through its history. In 1965, it was renamed the People's Defence Force.
